A 70-year-old woman recently returned from Brazil but lesions appeared on her foot about two and a half weeks after the start of her visit. The lesion caused a painful and annoying itch. The woman reported walking barefoot on the beaches during her visit to Brazil.

Another case of a 30-year-old man who arrived at the emergency room at the hospital on the eve of an infection in his foot that lasted for several days. During his vacation in Brazil (two months), he walked a lot barefoot on the beaches of Brazil, but after a few days he discovered red marks on his toes and constant itching. The guy then arrived at the hospital and was diagnosed with having come into contact with the same parasite and received medical treatment on the spot.

The parasite is a Cutaneous Larva Migrans - CLM, which causes the infection. The parasite is found mainly in tropical and subtropical regions, in the Caribbean, East Asia, Africa, South America, and the southeastern United States. The parasite has medical treatment and is definitely curable.
